Visa alert for delegates
When travelling to Montreal, all delegates should make sure that they meet the requirements to enter Canada. All visitors must:
- have a valid travel document, such as a passport.
- be in good health.
- satisfy an immigration officer that they have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take them back to their country of origin.
- satisfy an immigration officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their visit.
- have enough money for their stay.
Visitors may also need:
- a Temporary Resident Visa, depending on their citizenship.
- a medical examination
- a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.

International travellers who are seeking to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program are now subject to enhanced security requirements. All eligible travellers who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) even if they are only transiting the U.S. by air.
